About The Heckler
& Koch HK-53 Machinegun
The HK-53 is a very compact version of the HK-33.
It is similar in look to the MP-5 but uses the .223 Remington rifle
bullet instead of the MP-5's 9mm Luger handgun round. The HK-53 was
first produced and distributed in the mid-1970's and is still in
production.
The HK-53 uses the same delayed-blowback and roller system that the
HK-33 utilizes to reduce the impact of recoil.
Additional information
on the HK-53 can be found at Modern
Firearms HK-53 and HK-53
page.
